Campervan and motorhome stopovers in Mallorca

October 31, 2026
Son Serra de Marina, Mallorca

The choice of campervan and motorhome stopovers in Mallorca remains limited. In July 2025, Santa Margalida Town Council opened a municipal site in Son Serra de Marina with marked pitches, water and waste disposal facilities, and online booking.

This guide covers the practical information you need to plan your stay: the location, facilities, booking process and site rules. We also include another municipal option in Muro, which offers different facilities.

Son Serra de Marina motorhome stopover

The municipal site is on Carrer Llarg in Son Serra de Marina, within the municipality of Santa Margalida, approximately 150 metres from the sea.

According to its TripStop listing, it has 22 marked pitches and is open all year, with advance booking required.

Facilities include:

  • Water refill facilities and grey water and toilet waste disposal points.
  • Rubbish bins.
  • A fenced site with CCTV.
  • Shared electricity connections. Check availability before booking.

Motorhomes, campervans and caravans are welcome. If you arrive with a caravan, the towing vehicle must be parked outside the site. Pets are also allowed but must be kept on a lead.

Prices and booking

The published rate is €16 per day, with a maximum stay of 10 consecutive days.

Bookings and payments are managed through TripStop. You can view the Son Serra de Marina site listing on its website or app.

Advance booking is required. Before planning your stay, check pitch availability, prices and access conditions on the platform.

Site rules

You may use tables, chairs, awnings and levelling ramps within your marked pitch, provided everything stays inside its boundaries.

The following rules also apply:

  • Tents, roof tents and trailer tents are not permitted.
  • Fires, barbecues, outdoor cooking and fuel-powered generators are prohibited.
  • Quiet hours are from 11 pm to 7 am. Loud music must also be avoided during the rest of the day.
  • Grey water and toilet waste must only be emptied at the designated disposal points. Washing vehicles is not permitted.

Check the full conditions on TripStop before your stay.

Motorhome parking and overnight stays in Muro

In April 2025, Muro Town Council opened a municipal area for parking and overnight stays in motorhomes and similar vehicles, located in Muro town, beside the sa Graduada building.

According to information published when it opened, the area is free to use and has a drinking water refill point and grey water disposal facilities. It operates without advance booking, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Its facilities are more basic than those at Son Serra de Marina. Before using the area, check the signs and the council’s conditions of use.

You can read the report on the opening of Muro’s motorhome area.

Parking and camping: what you need to know

Parking is not the same as camping in Mallorca. Staying or sleeping inside a correctly parked motorhome does not, in itself, mean that you are camping.

To remain within the conditions for parking, your vehicle must comply with marked parking spaces and time limits. You must not put out tables, chairs or awnings, discharge liquids or cause noise disturbance outside the vehicle.

In Mallorca, you must also check local signs and each municipality’s rules, alongside specific restrictions in natural areas and along the coast. A designated site such as Son Serra de Marina may allow activities that are not permitted in an ordinary car park.

For more information, see the motorhome travel guidance from Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT), which explains the distinction between parking and camping.

Caravanning associations in Mallorca

Local caravanning associations campaign for more designated areas and facilities. Their channels can also help you keep up with new sites, events and issues affecting people travelling around Mallorca by campervan, caravan or motorhome:

  • A.C.O Mallorca (Asociación Caravaning Oasis): active on social media and promoting responsible caravanning.
  • AMMICCA (Amig@s de Mallorca, Menorca e Ibiza en Caravana, Camper y Autocaravana): a community bringing together users from across the Balearic Islands.
  • ABACES “Es Surell” (Asociación Balear Cultural de Tiempo Libre y Autocaravanismo): the first Balearic association to join a national caravanning federation in Spain.
